When looking at water based under floor heating systems, they usually need to have a slightly bigger depth space for the pipes. As this is more beneficial for the water based system, it probably is not the best idea to look into if you are going to install retrospectively as there could be limited space under your current flooring. However, if you do have a slightly smaller space, an electric system will be more beneficial for you as they can be installed in the smaller spaces and any awkward spaces if you have them. Also, with an electric based under floor heating system, you can fit them yourself if you are confident enough to do so.
